grayOS mod thread
Just wanted to make a thread to officially track the progress of modding my new daily driver, a 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport ES. It has the 4B11 (2 liter) and prob the last five speed manual that was in production at the time. I don’t think any other CUVs offered one, though feel free to correct me if I’m wrong. This is my first brand new car and first CUV and my first Mitsubishi as well, so there’s a learning curve. I also use this one for ridesharing so I cant do anything too radical. What I have done so far was a near zero toe alignment and bumped tire pressure to 50#. So far it drives great

Wow, I had no idea anyone was still putting manual transmissions in CUVs. Looks like they dropped it for 2020?
With the manual, a kill switch should be in order--maybe don't use it while ride-sharing, but otherwise it's probably the best bang-for-the-buck in city driving. |
Very nice! A real money maker! Congrats!

What limits are you thinking here? Engine mods (although still under warranty right? So maybe not yet) wouldn't be noticed by the passengers easily. The only other sector would be stealth aero. If you go down that route you could look at what people who can't legally modify their cars do. I think that ruling is mostly prevalent in European countries.

Yeah I’m looking at some stealth aero and some less than stealth if I can get it done in a good looking fashion. Wheel discs and spats definitely. Grille blocking is fine, and I’ve got to lower this thing lol |
Show us a picture of where the spats will go. Pleez.

So. I’ve completed my first actual mod to my Outlander. Made some wheel discs from coroplast, decorated them and have them attached directly to the wheels with zip ties. They were quite a pain to install on my own, hopefully they work at least somewhat well.
