2006 Toyota Tundra 4.7L V8

I am brand new to hypermiling and ecomodding. I drive this behemoth (EPA rated 15 city, 18 highway) for work and just recently added a ScanGuage II. With only minimal changes to my driving habits, I jumped my average mileage from 16.3 to 20.9. At the current price of fuel, that is saving me a 4.5 cents per mile. I get reimbursed for business mileage so that translates to about $16 extra in my pocket on every tank of fuel.

Viva hypermiling!

Welcome to EM! That's a great start. I have only improved my pickup mileage slightly but I don't tend to drive much freeway. I am learning all the transition points in my commute though and I can see a difference.

I drove my "new" 2005 Tundra 4.7L SR5 double cab home last week and got 23 MPG on the 170 mile trip.....then I refilled after about 400 more miles and got only 16.5. Boohoo!
I was driving 75-80 mph using mostly cruise control when I got the 23....so maybe I'm onto something....raise the speed limits from 55 to 75 around here.
