ive been looking at this site for a while now so i finally descided to join. what a great website and great people. very informative and ingenious with aero mods, which hopefully i will be trying soon. i finally got something to finally push the mileage boundries this past weekend. i picked up an 86 chevy sprint that is in very good shape, and i hope to be able to start working towards the goal of 100+ miles per gal. glad to be a part of this with you guys have a great day.

Wow - '86 Sprint.

Those are long gone from the rust belt! I haven't seen one of those for 4 or 5 years (and even that one was rotting away in the junk yard).

John Welcome!

Air up the tires!!!

100 MPG is certainly possible in a Sprint with driving technique, extensive mods... and fairly low average speeds.

Thanks guys for the positive encouragement. And I do love this new car. It is in amazing shape. No rust. Clean interior. And all stock. I'm going to start off slow on this build up of gas mileage so I can see the differences that are made. I'm not going to change my driving technic until after I get most to all of my mods done because I want a more accurate idea of the differences. I don't think I can consistently keep up on the hypermiling driving style just yet but that will come in time. I think first is get a baseline after I put the engine back together( thanks to a local shop that installed the gasket on the oil pump wrong before I bought the car), after that probably first is going to be the air dam. I will have to see where I go from there. Just trying to keep it easy on myself and think about one step at a time. Again thank you ecomodder for have such a great website.
