another lurker registered today.

my names nelson, im currently living in birmingham alabama and drive a 93 tercel 2 door. i recognize daox and malibuguy from the tercel forums. i hope they check this, because i wanted to ask them if they have done and testing on whether or not the windshield wipers on a tercel are a huge detriment or not. would they be better off with a blocker in front of them? maybe raise the rear of the hood a little? or are they ok just the way they are?

i do have slightly different goals than just pure fuel economy with this car.

1.needs to be able to carry 3 people. (me/wife/child)

2.needs to be fun to drive (thats mostly for me, birmingham and the surrounding area has some nice curvy mountain roads, and sometimes i like to go for a drive just for the sake of driving)

3. good (not astronomically high) mpg

as it stands, with the few modifications i could afford/perform myself im hovering around 45 mpg on the highway with a fourspeed manual (5 speed is in the near future)

as for city i wont even have a rough estimate untill i can get an mpguino as i dont do a whole lot of city driving.

can those be bought pre assembled?

anyway, if there are any fellow ecomodders nearby, you should give me a shout.
