Have any of you used eBay Motors?

I keep checking Facebook, Craigslist, and OfferUp for cheap cars in my area, not that I need new projects.
I decided to check eBay and noticed it said "Order an inspection from WeGoLook." I clicked on it and the site said that it was $99. I guess that is a fair price, considering that the seller may be half an hour or an--they don't send a mechanic! https://ecomodder.com/forum/attachme...1&d=1581845787 So, they just verify the listing--for $100, except the listing may say that it is in perfect mechanical shape. I really just want a mechanical inspection! :) Can you imagine circumstances in which you would pay a stranger to verify what another stranger is selling you? :) |
I wouldn't. They gloss over all the stuff that's important to me.

Yes but I bypassed it by sending the seller a message
I got my 81 Comutacar through there. I would argue it’s only valid if you want something very specific, not the best financial deal either but that happens on Craig’s if your wanting something odd. |
Seems a waste. A seller's rating will tell you if they are legit or not. I don't even know what benefit there would be to misrepresent a vehicle, cause they wouldn't get the cash once you figured out they weren't selling the vehicle advertised.
I bought my motorcycle on Ebay back in 2003. The bike was just as described, except when I went to pick it up the battery was dead. No battery stores were open on Sunday and the guy felt bad, so he rented a Uhaul trailer for us to transport it (I was going to ride it back) and threw in his helmet and jacket. Bought the 2 year old bike for $5,500 |
Once, but like rmay635703 I only used it to sift through cars and then contacted the seller directly (happened to be a dealer, not an individual) when I found one I wanted. I had the car inspected by a mechanic when I flew down to pick it up before doing any of the paperwork.

I have used eBay to buy and sell vehicles but have never used that service. I would consider it if I was going to buy an expensive vehicle a long distance away and have it shipped. $100 is cheap insurance to avoid the hassle of a car showing up that isn't as represented.
It isn't like you can just box up a car and send it back like a package on Amazon. |
