This is interesting because heating and cooling are the biggest energy uses, alongside moving things around. It sounds like it might serve as an heat accumulator, gradually slaking lime, and then releasing it all at once on demand.

As for the mysterious nano-coating material, my bet is on the glass particles already used to make hydrophobic coatings.

Very interesting video! It would be great if we could actually get some form of usable energy storage for grid level purposes.
