Hello

Hi there, I bought a 1998 Honda Civic HX about 6 months ago and I've been tuning it up here and there and I'm getting about 41-45 mpg on average. I feel like I could be doing better though so I guess that's why I'm here! I haven't done any modifications to it at all and probably never will... I'll just try to find something I can do for the engine.

Welcome to the site. The HX is a great car and you're doing pretty good with it.

Did you have any mods in mind? I'd suggest a grill block to start.

I went to get my oil changed today. They put Castrol GTX 5W-20 in there and an ACDelco oil filter. They suggested that I do a fuel induction service which they stated will pretty much maximize my gas mileage so I could probably get around 50 or so on the highway. I've already replaced the fuel filter and Seafoamed my engine but they said that it needs a lot more than just doing that.

you might want to think about dis-assembling your EGR plate and seeing if it is clogged. Just did that yesterday on my buddy's 97 hx. it was totally clogged- it passed smog today.

I did that a couple months ago while replacing my fuel filter. It wasn't too bad since the previous owner of the car pretty much kept this car in perfect running condition since he got it in 2000.

I'm trying to save up to get a scanguage probably sometimes this summer but I couldn't figure out a good place to put it that will make it look as if its integrated into the car rather than velcrowed onto the steering column.
