Hello from Australia

Hi all,

I'm starting on an 'e-resto' of an old Hudson car. Using a recently acquired wrecked Lexus as a donor vehicle for drivetrain & possibly suspension, running gear etc.

Looking forward to learning from others' experiences with electric conversions, particularly any conversions on older vehicles.

Welcome. :)
Unfortunately I can't help with any personal EV experience, but I'm quite interested in the idea.
Is there any particular reason for using the Hudson, or is it just what's available to you?

Pete.

Thanks for your welcome Pete - I bought the Hudson because it is a cool shape and although I had started restoring some parts of it I saw no future in restoring it as an internal combustion car. Restored cars are never worth the money you pour into them unless they are a highly collectible model. When thinking about electric conversion I realised that it's a feasible large car to convert due to being monocoque construction, in fact quite a bit lighter than other cars its size.

Hi PacEmaker. We do have some projects like that on here, notably the Pria Ghia and the Prius truck by Hoopie and the Firebrid by Bill the Engineer.

Great to see some classics converted to electric power.
