Hi everyone

Hi new to the forum and to saving gas period!! I come from a background with Mitsubishi evos, dsms. Recently sold my evo ix, now seeking for a civic vx. Its seems theirs a lot of vx models out there but have bad records, seeking for something clean but it is very difficult thinking of going back to searching for a cx model now. Well can't wait to learn some techniques on how to save gas or be more efficient. Hope to get some input on what i should look for. i drive 100 miles a day so need something quick.lol

I'd advise a search for it, I am sure it's been discussed.

I also prefer the Insight. Not too much more, but it seems like one really gets a lot more for the money.

Tom, your garage labels it as a 2001, and I think you may have mixed up your EPA estimates.

I ended up buying a 1995 civic vx cali model. its red interior is great left side took some vandalized work by some haters and has 190k original miles, clean title with a/c=) ive averaged a 44 mpg and it has a crack on manifold so check engine light is on and might be o2 sensor too. not bad at all liking the vx model so far. Only issue right now that i noticed it idles weird at times revs go from 600rpms to 1200rpms then it repeats it self then stops???

nice to meet you. Get the manifold fixed, check the o2 sensor. put some air in the tires, changing your driving habits, and slowing down will all help. Good luck and have fun. Best Tom

Looks like you picked up a pretty good base for a kamm/boat tail! Get the maintenance up to date and then start modding! The idle may be because of the cracked manifold. I wouldn't mess with the O2 sensor until after you fix the manifold, otherwise you might be wasting your time (and money).

Definitely air up the tires (40ish) and get an MPGuino.

Do a search on here for engine and tranny swaps. I don't know anything about the Civic line, but a lot of people are swapping between the different models. You might be able to swap a better engine and better trans and make a Franken-civic for the best results.

Also, I think you should put a spoiler on the back. Civic Spoiler
