Hello! Modder Newbie : P

Hello!
I purchased my first car Knuckles (Burgundy 2014 Chevy Sonic Lt 4cyl 1.8L)
In Feb of 2015. I have always been into the modification of cars, but never really tried go get into it until now. I wod like to start off with a few minor mods and work my way up. Cold air intake, exhaust, lowering etc. I have tons of questions, and figures thid would be a good place to get them answered.

My name is Aaliyah (ah-lee-uh)

I have trying to instal a cold air intake since I got the car, but I cannot figure out how to do it because the extra air pump (used for emmisions I believe ) is connect to the intake. And I cannot figure out how to work around it.

Welcome to the site Aaliyah.

From our testing, we generally don't see fuel economy increases from running cold air intakes. Exhaust work is possible, but it does have trade offs. Lower is good for aerodynamics.

Hello Knuckles,

I'm sticking with that name instead of the other one. You originally introduced yourself that way, and it's how your name will always show up on the screen unless you change it.

The general consensus here is that other things being equal, you will get better fuel economy using a warm air intake (usually acronym-ed as WAI) to reduce pumping drag in the engine's movements.

Since you have tons of questions, let me refer you to a one-stop shopping venue that will get you past a lot of the obvious stuff: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...-mpg-5170.html and the related behavioral changes that will help make the most of those mods: 100+ Hypermiling / ecodriving tips & tactics for better mpg - EcoModder.com
