Hello from New Zealand.

Blessings and all good

I am a religious solitary and I do my best to live a simple and uncomplicated life. Because of this I have a strong interest in alternative/appropriate tech as well being as 'green' as possible in my daily life.
I've always loved bicycles as a way of getting about and an electric tricycle has been my daily ride for local journeys about town for the past four years.

I very much look forward to learning new things and sharing ideas with you all.

Cool to see I'm not the only NZer around here. I've been lurking for ages, but haven't really got round to posting. Where abouts in NZ are you? I'm in Wellington, which doesn't do much for fuel economy, all these damn hills!

Welcome to EM to both of you! New Zealand is a completely lovely place -- I visited for about 2 months back in 1982.

Can you post pictures of your electric trike? Is it a reverse trike (the 2 wheels in the front)?

I can't show you my electric tricycle just yet as I haven't posted often enough yet. It's a Hercules fitted with a 250 watt motor hub and the batteries have only just given up after four years of use.

I live in the Hauraki District where we have lots of flat ground and it's perfect for bicycles

Welcome aboard. It's good to see another NZer interested in Ecomodding.

Yeah even here in Auckland, the hills would kill FE.

2win2rbo, seeing your fuel log I'm going to have to try out 95 on my next fill and see if I get a similar boost (I'm hating being stick at 8-8.5l/100km for 75% city).
