Hello from Portugal

Hey guys!

My name is Erickson, i'm from Portugal and i drive a 1999 Rover 400 1.4 16v. I'm very interested in lowering the fuel consumption and i found this forum which has given me some ideas for aerodynamic modifications :)

Once i start doing that, i'll show you.

Welcome to the site Erickson.

I've never heard of a rover 400. I had to google it. What kind of mileage are you currently getting with your Rover?

Thank you!
That's the last model Rover 45, mine is an earlier model still called 400. I'll post pictures of it soon, I'm not home right now.
I'm getting an average of 7L/100km. Which is not bad for the car in question and the city driving that I mostly do.
I work at BMW and I'm going to replicate some of the aerodynamic solutions they have on the newer models :)

Welcome Erickson, you'll like it here, lots of good information and help with your mods.

Will you do me a favor? Keep a lookout for a bluegreen 1959 Austin Healey 100-6 with removeable hardtop. Mine was stolen and taken to Portugal about 10 yrs ago. Just kidding about keeping a lookout, I know it's gone.

I have seen only a handful of those in South America, mostly registered in Argentina and Uruguay, but since they share some mechanical underpinnings with the 6th-generation Honda Civic you may find lots of useful info here.

iveyjh, i'm loving it here! Sorry to hear about your Austin Healey :( I love those small English roadsters!

cRiPpLe_rOoStEr, i didn't know these existed in South America! I'm sure i'm going to find lots of info and ideas here, my only regret is being so busy right now and can't find the time to proper explore the forum.
P.S. Eu nasci no Brasil ;)

I didn't even remember they were around until I saw one at the parking lot of a supermarket here in Porto Alegre, but it had Uruguayan plates. And probably that old 2.0L pushrod Diesel :D
