Hello from Richmond!
 

New guy here...been hypermiling for about a week.

I was a cynic until regular unleaded hit $4 per gallon.

I drive a 1987 BMW 535iS in which I'm already exceeding EPA estimates.

I also ride a 2005 Yamaha R1, which is obviously built for race track type speed, but still gets me about 35-40 mpg.

My wife drives a 2003 Mini Cooper, in which we are KILLING the EPA estimates...42 mpg on the highway with various hypermiling techniques.

Hoping you wise experts around here can help us get even more out of these vehicles. Glad to be aboard!

Welcome to the community. What's the commute like?

Well, mine is only about five minutes.

My wife's is about 35, and mostly interstate & two-lane highway.

It's the around town errand drives that really are killers...but our new techniques are helping with that tremendously.
