Hello from So Cal

Hello,

I found this forum by mere chance since a member was on another forum and had the EPA sig that you guys have displayed on the other forum. Sure glad I signed up here.

I drive a 2008 Ford Fusion I4 Manual 20" Katana rims (i know i know not exactly FE)
and a 2007 Kia Rio Auto

I came here to learn what I can do to help improve my gas mileage. Even the slightest increase is still an increase. So far I've learned so much and I haven't even read that much. So far I've dropped my speed down from 80-85 mph to about 55-60mph. I started accelerating alot slower and I plan to get a SGII for both of my vehicles (im lazy)

So far I've seen an improvement and can't wait to learn more

Sounds like you're starting off on the right foot - that speed difference alone should make a significant difference.

Have you been tracking your fuel consumption all along, or is it something new since prices have run up?

Anyway, welcome to the site.

I've tracked in on and off. Since I bought my new car this year in January and found out it has a 17.5 gallon gas tank and gas was $4.50 is when I really paid attention. I didn't think of it at the time because the car looked great and EPA was 20-28 (give or take a little) but 17.5 gallons (arg!). Now since I signed up here I am going to track it all the time. Thank god you guys have a fuel log.

Howdy fellow Californite! Keep reading through the site (especially the 100+ tips in the upper right) and the things I like to remember for fuel economy are:

driving style/habits
aerodynamics
weight
tires

address these areas and you'll be enjoying that oh-so-cheap CA gas we all love. :D
