Hello from Tucson, Az

New to the game, but have always been interested in the ecomodding culture since it got big a few years back.

Had an 88 CRX which was a dream, but sold it for a more family oriented car and now own an 87 Volvo wagon. If anyone has experience with these and has ideas I would love some, since the gas mileage right now is in the upper teens...

Thanks!

Volvo huh? I used to be a Volvo Tech at a large dealership. What kind of wagon is that a 240? What engine? Manual?

There is actually a few Volvo owners here on the site if I recall.

Welcome to ecomodder! The first thing to work on is driving technique. Consider building yourself an mpguino.

I checked the garage and have been looking at some volvos.

The one I drive is a 740 turbo wagon. EPA rated at 18 MPG combined, turbo and automatic.

So far what Im doing is putting the car in neutral while stopped so the engine isnt trying to push the car foreward, and at stop lights Engine off. Besides that theres the usual feather footing and keeping real light on the gas pedal. And always trying to keep a coast at intersections to keep momentum during red lights.
