Hello from Van
Vancouver, Canada that is...
I just traded an '85 Bonneville gas guzzler for a 2001 Chevy Malibu LS gas guzzler. The Malibu is currently using the same amount, if not more, fuel as the Bonny. I'm here to get this new acquisition on the right track. I could use some help from all of you in directing me to the right places on here! Thanks! |
I might know a guy that can put you into something more fuel friendly than that! But regardless, always good to see another Wet Coaster on the board! Welcome.

Want a personal recommendation? Ditch the Malibu and get something more economical. That will net you the largest gain in MPG.
If not, I guess you're going to need to figure out how much cosmetic plastic you're willing to add. You'll also want to look into the hypermiling tips, especially higher PSI in your tires and driving without brakes. ~Matt |
Seems there are enough members in the Van area that you could almost organize a mini-meet or find someone willing to show you the ropes in terms of driving technique.
I'm inclined to agree with Flakbadger though: keep looking! War_Wagon is too shy to mention it directly :D, but he's got the inside line on affordable used economy cars that people have traded in. Hit him up! |

The Malibu is a hand-me-down family deal of sorts. I'm currently an out-of-work game dev. and it was all I could really afford for a K. It's the best car I've ever driven and would like to do what I can to make it as efficient as possible. I've already started coasting in neutral! |
