Help needed - 999 MPG instant - 93 Metro

I just got my new MPGuino straight from opengauge.org in the mail a couple of days ago. I hooked it up to my '93 Geo Metro Convt today and I am seeing 999 MPG instant. I believe I used the default setup on everything with the exception of vehicle weight (I think I put something in like 1600 or so). Anyway, if I am driving 35 MPH and go to screen #1 it shows:
9999/"working MPH"
9999/"working distance"

If I go to screen #8 it shows:
1.4/G0000000 (never changes)
1.4/G0000000 (never changes)

Can anyone help me troubleshoot this thing?

I have the unit hooked straight to the ECU (well, using the wiring harness at the ECU). You can see my install here (work in progress):

I've had bad luck tapping the injector at the ECU. I usually go straight to the injector.

I just added a section to the wiki for identifying connections:

Does the info I posted lead you to believe the INJ wire is not hooked up? That is what I could not tell so I was asking here. If I am not getting that signal I will try tapping at a different place.

Any idea why I could not get a signal at the ECU but I will be able to get one at the INJ? Doesn't make any sense...

Yup, you should see a gph signal on the main (custom) screen if the injector signal is hooked up correctly. Don't know why the trouble at the ECU, but tapping at the injector eliminates a lot of variables.

Thanks!

Hooking up straight to the injector fixed it. I am not sure why I couldn't get it to work using the wire at the ECU. I will investigate this further when I get a chance. For now, I am going to start rebuilding the engine so I won't have time to play with it for a while.
