Here's my car...
Hey guys, I think I've introduced myself before, but here's a pic of the car that I'm modding:
http://www.dashpc.com/pictures/DSC00767.JPG She's got a 1.3L 63HP little engine and I'm going to modify the body for hypermiling. I currently get 47 MPG with it, and I'm hoping that I can get up to 60+ with some mods and careful driving. :D |

Neat car. Is there something strange about the photo though? When it first loaded, I thought it was a picture of a toy. And far be it from me to make fun of people who have tiny cars! Honestly, something about the lens, or the lighting...
Anyway. Very nice! You should post a garage entry because I forget the details, and it'll save everyone from asking you the same questions over and over :) |
Welcome to the site, pretty sweet ride ya got there.

Cool little car, welcome to EM

She just looks tiny next to the BMW (or any other car for that matter). I have a large garage and I raised the camera above my head when I took the pic.
Trust me, she's no toy. ;) I'm looking forward to sharing my advances with the community - thanks for the warm welcome. |

@metroMPG - If the camera perspective is bothering you, here's a picture of her rear end:
http://dashpc.com/pictures/DSC00765.jpg She's quite real... ;) |
I see a lot of potential...

I've already gutted the interior. She's a 1 seater MUV (Micro Utility Vehicle). I can fit lumber and even a ladder in this little car. It's very handy.
I have a mirror delete and grill block in progress. I removed the 195 wheels seen in the picture and I replaced them with the factory skinnys (165mm). I'm going to delete the passenger wiper, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the drivers' wiper. Maybe I'll modify the assembly so it's removable with a thumbscrew. In this way, I can add it during rainy weather, but it will stored inside the vehicle mostly. I'm still hacking my driving for my current route(s) to work. I'll post numbers to my garage entry soon. I'm thinking about pulling the alternator and using a 3rd wheel or solar for electrical. Since she's an old car the electrical system is pretty basic (AC, heating, lights, EFI, etc). I also plan on smoothing the underbody. I'm not sure that lowering is a good idea. I may raise her up on skinny tires. |
