Hey there!

Hey guys, Im new to the forum. I've been reading the posts here for a little while though. Great site! I'm an auto technician, love to mess with electronics and ham radio. I'm ready to start doing what I can to improve the economy on my magnum.

I too have a 2005 Dodge Magnum R/T and have never felt the need to work on mileage improvements. But, maybe we can get a collaboration going as it is a popular car and has many followers.

I never really had an interest either untill I came across this site. Now its sparked my interest and I'd like to see how much of a difference I can make. I have to say I was very suprised to see 30 MPG from a 100 mile trip on the interstate.

Thank you, one of many intrests currently is EGR. I think there should be a way to increase egr at certain times to decrease pumping losses and improve economy without causing performance to suffer. I'm going to work on that one for now and see what I can come up with. :)

I'd rather leave EGR alone for that matter. One thing I've been considering is to increase the intake valve opening time, like it's done in hybrids, but with a supercharger in order to overcome the dynamic discompression. It has been done in stationary/industrial and marine engines since the 30s or 40s, and Mazda did it in some version of the 929 full-size sedan.
