HHO just might get this guy 150% better MPG

I was browsing fuelly and saw this guy with a Metro who is averaging 22 mpg. He said he's using it a test platform for using "HOHOHO" for fuel and hopes to prove he can fuel his car with water. I hope he controls his variables, and gets the car running right first.

I had NO IDEA anyone regardless of vehicle condition or driving style could EVER get less than 30mpg in a Metro....I'm flabbergasted.

A Metro that gets 22mpg? Is the gas tank leaking more than half of the fuel on the ground? Sheesh.

I've never managed to get 22 MPG with my V-6 Mustang, even with its heavier curb weight and four times the piston displacement(!)
I'd bet I could get around 30 MPG with HHO, fuel line magnets, a "Tornado" air management system, a "Fitch Fuel Catalyst", "Dixie Caps" on my injectors, $25 "Pulstar" spark plugs, a K&N air filter, ... :D

I'm thinking he may be sandbagging, in hopes that less informed folks will be more impressed with the before/after numbers.

IMBFOS, but considering that his last update was almost a year and a half ago (04-30-09), I think he just gave up.
I also found a couple of members over there who are only averaging about 16 MPG out of their 2007 Mustang V6's. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.... :)

Yea, that guy must've been the crappiest driver of all time. does he drive in reverse half the time, er?

either that or the car is desperate for a tune up!

Back in the late '80s and early '90s, I had a couple of Camaros (an 86 and an 89) with the 305/OD setup, which would give me a relatively steady +-31mpg on the highway, which I did a lot living in NM. A friend had a similar Firebird, but it had a v6, and he complained that he could never get better than 26 or so.

Two things: I had a "sweet spot" drivetrain that had enough power that it didn't have to work very hard for my driving style, and speaking of driving style, he probably wasn't quite as light on the accelerator as I was.

Those cars wouldn't win any races, but they were pretty darned good road trip cars. The hatchbacks had lots of room, even able to close on a completely assembled tandem bicycle I bought for my parents. Yeah, the front wheel was resting on the dash. :D
