Hi From Denmark

Hi guys.

here in Denmark, gas is as expensive as everywhere else.

I drive a Peugeot 206 1.4 HDI from 2002, and I have a loooooooooooooong drive to work..everyday... I don't mind, I work with what I want, at a crappy pay, but I'm happy! (yes, the sucker!!)

I have a 114Km drive to work, and the same home... that's 70 miles each way..

crazy..

so you can imagine that fuel economy is important to me.. no gascard included in my pay..

I hope to learn a great many things here...

Even before I start asking and nagging.. if you have any suggestions for me, do chip in with your comments...

and "get another job smuck!" isn't one of them... so leave that out...

Hope to have a good stay here...

Kindest regards,

Martin

Welcome to EM, Martin...

What kind of fuel economy are you getting in your 206?

I think you may be one of our only Danish members. Tell us more about your commute :) I'm sure it's a nice drive, although long.

Enjoy your stay, and best FE to you

Hi,

Happy to see another European :)
I like to see snow, but I don't like to drive when snowing.

This is a lot of miles, which is a lot of places to improve

The first rule is to have fun and you will see yourself improving day after day.

First create your car in the EMgarage and log your tanks : this is how you will see your improvement. If you have consumption by tank then you can calculate how much gasoil you consume at each trip, the improvement will be even faster :) and you can log your trips, or at least the best of the week ;).

Denis.

hi guys.

thanks for the welcome.

I get around (this is last I checked... I haven't got a computer to check km/l) 11.8 miles per liter (0.26 gallon)
this is tested by noting total kilometers and noting liters tanked each time.

the trip is 50% 2 lane roads (smaller country lanes) and 50% motorway.

I drive a steady 100km per hour when I can, and 120km per hour on the motorway... the 100 is above the law.. i know... bad me.. but a long drive takes a lot of time.. soo...

I've considered having my car Ecomodded... by ecomodded I mean the control program in the car changed..

I'll ask about the in the forum..

Hey Martin! Welcome to ecomodder. I would definitely suggest trying to get some fuel economy instrumentation to help you figure out how to improve your mileage!
