Hi Everybody

hello from Lodovico,
I'm from Italy, driving a small city car, a Lancia Y ( project 840).
Drive in the middle of the Alps means narrow street with a lot of climbing and downhill.
My target it's achieving 3 l/100 km or less.
Will post my car pictures soon as possible

My grandma had a Fiat Siena with the 16-valve version of that very same engine. Well, I have never seen a Lancia Y in my home country, but your goal seems to be quite ambitious for a gasoline-powered non-hybrid car. BTW would you be willing to eventually get rid of some comfort features in order to trim some weight of the car? And what about aerodynamic mods? Does it have a 5-speed or a 6-speed transmission?

I know the fiat siena, but in europe was not selled, we have the palio, same family of siena.
yes, the 16 valves it's same engine with different motorhead, powerful.
My car have a 5 speed transmission, i know that some 6 speed can be swapped with no hurt, except for the money.
the aero-mod need to be very light if i don't want be pull over every quarter of a mile :(.

For now I'm planning a kill switch, a change of tire, i have found the Maxxis Mecotra me3 165 65 r 14 83 h, right now they have the best energy label on the market, with a B grade in rolling resistance and a B grade on braking on wet surface (safety).

I will like to change transmission oil and engine oil, but for the engine i will need to rebuild before switch to a better oil.

oh, i have almost all the pices to build the mpguino, hope it will help me to improove eco driving when i need to drive uphill, right know i can't find what it's the best way, for know i just try to reach the cruise speed with a 80% of throttle and then i shift to the highest gear that can handle the slope and the modded warm air intake it help me a lot.

Surprisingly, the 5-speed is often more suitable for fuel-efficiency, while the 6-speed might be more frequently favored by those who enjoy some spirited driving...

Buona Sera!
Why does the engine needs rebuilt.
Does it drink oil?

Any mods so far?

Buonasera a voi!
yup, way too much, i'm sure tha some it's just liking thru the tappet (not sure if this word it's correct) gasket.
but i point the finger to the piston rings and partially to the valves gasket.
Leaks thru the tappet cover gasket it's always present in the F.IR.E engine.
Hope the new won't suffer of this issue
