Hello from Maine.

Hello every one. I was a member of this site a few years ago, and now I am back. I am trying to learn some new driving habits and lite modes to increase the mpgs. I hope to hear from you.

Welcome back. Thanks for jumping in and posting mileage logs wish more users did. Being in Maine this time of the year anything you do to keep the operating temperature up would be useful, except for idling. To name a few grill block, engine compartment insulation, possibly a block warmer and garaging it if you have one.

On the maintenance side thermostat operation should be checked and the lightest weight of winter oil recommended by the manufacture used.

Grille block is a good mod. Do you have a way to monitor coolant tmp accurately?

Which car is your daily driver?

And... welcome back!

Chippy is my daily driver and I plan or making a card board template of a grill block this week. At one time I did have one in and I did see the best mpg's ever when I had it in. I got 43.2 mpg average. The only problem is the last time I had it it I overheated my car. After that I ripped it off and never put it back on. So I was thinking of making one again with a 2x2 cutout to allow some cool air in. I only have the stock temp gauge in the car right now.

The lumina is my wife's ride. .I live down a three mile privet dirt road in the middle of woods. In the winter my road sucks that's were Jimmy comes in. We only use Jimmy when it snows or to take the garbage to the dump.
