Hi~ from horsepower to MPG

Hi how is everyone. I just joined up on this site. I used to be addicted to horsepower but now im addicted to effciency.

its funny because i sell parts to make horsepower (and some effciency but, meh) on my website.

I drive a 2002 4.3L / auto chevy blazer.

I am soon going to be adding a MAP enhancer & PCV enhancer, and hopefully a hydrogen system with a PWM. I am already running some 02 sensor isolators that have helped with my gas mileage.

I am on here to gain some knowledge about saving some gas.

Welcome to EM!!!

I'm pretty sure the hydrogen systems are a fluke, a scam to make a couple hundred dollars quick. Unless you know how to make one yourself, then it's worth trying to test out.

Go pull some sweet numbers!

Sorry I missed this thread! Was the the airport.

Welcome to ecomodder!

I'm a newcomer myself but...Welcome. :)

Welcome, if you post up some pictures I'm sure the members will help you make it more aerodynamic. I'm guessing your Trailblazer has a roof rack because I've never seen one without a roof rack. Well, if you don't use it I would ditch it. The best mod IMO is the driver mod, I've had great results from changing my driving habits.

already removed teh roof rack.

I did build a rearmount turbocharger for the truck long ago. went 12.5's in the 1/4 mile and did quiet well on gas when i didnt have my foot in it. burnt up a couple exhaust valves and sold the turbo kit.

i also have a shift kit in the transmission to help with longevity and reduce heat/slippage.

BTW- differentpointofview- i have experience with hydrogen systems, and yes they work. PWM & EFIE's / 02 isolators are the key to getting them to work as advertised ;). i will keep you guys updated.

Glad to be here.

What kind of experience do you have?

BTW, don't forget about a way to retard the ignition timing.

Welcome to the site!

I was/am in the same boat as you, coming from horsepower to efficiency, hence the name "reformed".. although I still have my track/(*cough*street*cough*) car, so I'm not technically as reformed as I say I am. This site is great, it has really opened my eyes to all the things you can do to increase FE and there are a lot of very knowledgeable people here.

as far as experience. the hydrogen system is basically just wiring. Which is easy. I have installed 7 full nitrous kits now so wiring is a breeze. Everything from a standalone 2 stage nitrous set-up with window switch, purge, and bottle heater to a simple wet kit with just a WOT switch. I have some experience in tuning but that is to get the most out of usually a forced induction set-up. Helped tune 2x supercharged s2000's, and my truck when it was turbocharged.

As far as retarding the timing, i will probably get a copy of EFI live to do a full street tune on my mothers truck, my truck and my brothers truck (04 5.3L Z71)
