hola

Been lurking for some time now. Very impressed with what many here are able to do with their vehicles. Especially those with full size pick-ups and vans.

I've got a '90 Plymouth Voyager with the 2.5 turbo automatic all stock. I'd really like to squeeze as much mpg out of it as possible.

Welcome to the forum.

How are you doing with the van now? To start, you might want to make a garage entry and begin a fuel log.

Thanks. Filled out the garage info as best I could.

I've read multi-meters are recommended. Anything else right away thats not too expensive?

Being this is a factory turbo engine, is there anything I could do regarding that? Fyi the factory turbo is pretty small.

I should have added that I'm currently getting about 19 mpg average. I drive with a pretty light right foot.

FYI: Fuel Economy of 1990 Plymouth Voyager/Grand Voyager 2WD

I think this is your Voyager's EPA rating: 19 mpg (combined) 17 city / 21 hwy. You can do better! (I assumed the premium fuel requirement for the 2.5L engine means: turbo.)

(Too bad it's automatic instead of 5-speed.)

One of the first recommendations is to get a fuel consumption gauge. Instant feedback & resettable average consumption is critical to playing the MPG game. Since your van is pre-OBD-II, you'll need to look at the MPGuino. (Safe to assume you've got some mechanical skills? You'll need to locate/splice into a few wires.)
