Hatch - '97 Honda Civic DX

Hi, from MN.

Hey guys,

Been lurking a couple days, checking things out. A LOT of good information on here.

I've got a 97 Civic DX hatch. I'm picking up a VX transmission in the next couple of days, shooting for a late winter, early spring swap.

I'm also considering swapping in a D16Y5, but haven't been able to find one on its own for a ballpark price (on a budget these days ).

Out of curiosity, is anyone running a D16Y7 (stock DX motor) with a VX trans? Just wondering what the gains in MPG might be. I do a lot of highway driving (36 miles commuting each day), so I have to assume the taller VX gears should really help me out.
