hi-
just got my 2011 honda civic ex and want to do some eco-mods that won't void my warranties Any pointers and tips are welcome thanks and look forward to more good info Joe |
Welcome!
here is a good list of mods to look at: Car MPG Efficiency Modifications Main - EcoModder Good ones to start with, tire pressure, grill block, belly pan. |
ok aired up tires to 44 psi - rolling resistance lowered
also, got darkest legal tint for first ecomod This will help with FE in summer as it will cut down on amount of AC useage next, remove mud guards - aero mod future: grill blocks for the lower section - aero mod suction cup Kamm back - aero mod rear belly pan attached to hitch - aero mod |

Welcome to EM! Is it a sedan or a coupe? CarloSW2 |
hi-
it is a sedan with auto transmission MPG has been under epa even with very conservative driving However, for highway miles I do my share of passing...so that might be a reason Best MPG is HWY 34.7 after 44psi tires. prior to that it was 34 but just barely... Best city is 32, worst was 27.8mpg I just completed my coroplast grill blocks held on with zip ties. I will have a few long trips where I can test this out later this week. Trying to crack 40 MPG...but have not had my first oil change yet I am expecting the mpg to rise as the engine settles in. BTW - all the gas around here has up to 10% ethanol so I have heard this can hurt mpg as much as 25%? |
Mileage usually gets better after the engine "break-in" period too.

i have a civic hybrid
and i believe the underbody trays fit non-hybrid sedans as well |
