High brightness LEDs

hello all I was thinking some one would like to try this
Digi-Key - 365-1386-ND (TT Electronics/Optek Technology - OVTL09LG3W)

you would need 4-5 of those to replace one head light, so 40-50 watts instead of 50-60 watts.... then a big heat sink, this is all based off the lumen output of those.

It's not about watts, it's about lumens/lux.

250 lumens is not enough for your average vehicle. low beams are typically 600-700 lumens and high beams are the same, but some of the most powerful ones are upwards of 1500 lumens.

Vision X makes a variety of pre-built LED lamp array units that can output 800, 1400, 2160, or 3600 lumens at 60 lumens per watt.

You can get more lumens per watt from HID lamps, but they don't last as long.

I am putting all possible LEDs in my City-el, but I may stay with the old rectangular headlight. Side, brake, signals, interior are all on their own circuits, but high/low headlight wires goes all over.

I think all the US imports had those trailer lights- that is a very easy swap!

Might not help my lighting much; but it will make me feel a whole lot better!

I can pay for a new moter with what is wanted for those lights

Lights, "special" marine batteries, custom pulleys & serpentine belts, funny fuses, certain 'US only' tires- that City-el has sure been a learning experience; an expensive one too! Amazing to me is that they keep their value. Original 1993 motor.
