Honda head swap questions
I have a ‘95 Civic EX with the stock D16Z6 engine. I’ve recently purchased a D15Z1 long block from a local junkyard and would like to swap the head, but keep my D16 block. The D16 uses a four wire O2 sensor and the D15Z1 uses the five wire wide band O2 sensor. My stock wiring harness has a completely different plug for the O2 sensor.
My question is, is there a way to rewire the stock harness to use the five wire O2, or should I completely swap the P07 harness in? Are there any other components between the two harnesses that are different? Has anyone else done a similar swap before and had to solve this issue? |
I also still need to find a P07 ECU if anyone has leads on that. Trying to not pay the prices I see doing google searches. Haven’t seen anything less than $170 so far, and upwards of $300 for refurbished units. The refurbished units don’t say how they’ve been refurbished at all, which makes me skeptical.

You'll probably want to get a pin diagram for the P07. I have no specific knowledge about this, but the pinouts on the ECU may be significantly different.
