Mud Bubbles

I've said for some time now that we will live in Mud Bubble and we will like it. Now, today, Kirsten Dirksen posted this:

Wasp 3D-prints round eco-homes from any local raw earth

Not eating bugs though.

Every house comes with a free pond!

Most have a weather cover, but at 20:00 they show a design with a hexa-pent geodesic dome over one. They also show a staircase hung on a printed wall section.

What do all y'all think?

Ain't ceramic tiles and bricks already made out of some sort of mud anyway?

All I ask is watch the video. At some point they address geopolymers and room temperature curing. Ceramics have specific ratios of sand, silt and clay (differ only in size), no organic material and mineral amendments for specific purposes.

Ceramic houses
Ceramic houses are buildings made of an earth mixture which is high in clay, and fired to become ceramic. The process of building and firing such houses was developed by Iranian architect, Nader Khalili, in the late 1970s. he named it Geltaftan; "Gel", means "clay", and "taftan", means "firing, baking, and weaving clay" in Persian.Wikipedia
I've had this guy's book since 1996.

Ceramic Houses and Earth Architecture: How to Build Your Own Paperback – September 1, 1996

Add ceramic glazes and cob.

Classicism fights back! Habitat for Humanity creates a 3D printed house, and it is Tartarian all the way -- gable roof, pediment and battered columns.

No infill in the walls? No breathing or warming organs built in?

Another program I saw suggested an infill, possibly expanding foam. The poor surface finish is a turn off. Didn't do a benchy.

I've seen a print head that had paddles trailing it on the sides to trowel it flat as it goes. The citation is needed.

Wasn't the trowelled beehive thing in Fresno? Or was that another different forum?

Don't know. I looked but all I've had time for is

But it's early times. Lessons might be learnt from FDM printing.
