Let's ask Ecomodder: ecomodder.com/wiki/Vehicle_Coefficient_of_Drag_List

Make Model Year Cd Height (In) Width (In) Frontal Area (ft^2) CdA
Toyota Corolla 1993-97 0.33 53.5 66.3 20.0 6.58

[vBulletin formatting sux. You can remove tabs but you can't add them]

Compared to what? The Hatchback? Lights up/lights down? Corolla vs the World at large?

i was hoping somebody had information on this car. I have not been able to find any information on it and i don't know where to look.

judging by the information you have for a newer model the 1985 corolla coupe is not very aerodynamic. Is that correct?

I misread the decade, but that's the earliest entry for the Corolla.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Corolla

I'm at a loss when it comes to the various models. Wikipedia says it could be an E80, AE85 or AE86, Is it front- or rear-wheel drive?

Once again compared to what? A 0.35 Cd is typical for the era. Better than a Beetle, worse than a Tesla.

my car is a rear wheel drive ae86 coupe

epa says the mpg of the car with a manual trans is
29 combined
City:26
Highway:33
I am not sure if that is for a corolla like mine or the front wheel drive version.

my car needs a new engine and transmission. I'd like to find a more efficient engine than the old carbureted one and maybe change the rear differential to improve hwy mileage. Then it could be an efficient summer daily. I'm not interested in chopping the roof or doing major body work to improve aerodynamics because there aren't many of these cars left.

Unfortunately if its ~0.35 Cd i assume that isn't very good. I don't know if the cars aerodynamics will make it not worth building for efficiency.

I was tempted to paint the Metro XFi's rocker panel and lower doors black like that. To connect the front and rear bumper color.

Two-door AE85/AE86 Corollas and Sprinters were less aerodynamic than the three-doors: Toyota claimed drag coefficients of 0.37 for the two-door coupe and 0.35 for the three-door body style. The three-door coupe’s rear hatch made for marginally greater utility, although both body styles suffer a high liftover height and neither has an abundance of passenger or cargo room. Note the center high-mounted stop light (CHMSL), added to all 1986–1987 U.S. cars to meet a new federal requirement.
