How to affix radiant barrier to metal garage door
I have a metal garage door facing the afternoon sun, and my garage is situated directly under a part of the upstairs living quarters (master bedroom, specifically) - the inside of the garage door is unbearable to touch during the afternoon.
So I bought a roll of that radiant barrier stuff, basically it's bubble wrap with a layer of mylar on either side of it. Now... how do I stick it to my garage door? I was thinking 3M 90 but that stuff is only adhesive up to about 140F and then wants to get sloppy. Any other ideas? HVAC tape? |
Sheet metal screws with big plastic washers.

I have a garage door that faces the same direction. I slid rigid insulation into the back and then fastened it in place with foil tape. The foil tape stuck to the metal but eventually failed to hold on the foam. I think you might have the same problem with the foil tape. It may be worth a try anyway. What about high temp silicone adhesive?
