How can you tow a car with a boattail ?
 

My car recently broke down again ( electrical - no spark ) and I nearly broke down on the side of the road. I pushed the car back to my apts, since lucky for me i had just exited the driveway.

So I started wondering how i would have had the car towed had i installed a boat-tail. Since the fulcrum is farther forward on a boat-tailed car, would this present any problems ?

I tend to worry about too many things, but I guess it's also good to plan things ahead, right ?

As long as the underside angle is steep like that of the AeroCivic, I think we would be good to go, but anything less and it seems like the whole assembly could just tear off.

It also makes me wonder how that low riders get towed. How do they manage ?

A lot of low riders are sitting on switches. Others, I imagine, need to make make shift ramps to not scrape apart. It also depends on if it needs a flat bed or not, and the design of the flat bed.

Flat bed tow truck, or save some money an borrow a car trailer.

So low riders aside, what about the boattailed cars ? Would a flat bed truck work just fine ?

Depends on the angle of the flat bed, when it's not flat.

Roll backs are not bad, but you would need a good driver or someone that cares :p the best bet might be a strap behind another car/truck just to get you home. Thats what I did with my car when the timing chain broke.
The boom trucks can adjust how far up they lift the car I dont know how far that adjustment goes though.

Unless you are hundreds of miles from home and you don't know anyone that will do that for you ! :D

I have seen lowered HXes on Craigslist that had aftermarket tow hooks on the outside of the bumper. I imagine the owners thought they looked cool, but I disagreed.
