How come my MAP is higher? What controls it?

I went to get my car serviced since it's been a long time since that happened and they drained ALL the fluids and replaced them. The idle stayed the same ( think they adjusted it too) but the MAP is now higher. Before it was 3.9 while idling and now it's 4.1 (this is on the scangauge 2)

I thought that the lower it is the better, or am I missing something? I also had my valves adjusted, does it have anything to do with it?

A clean air filter can make a difference in map. Engine needs a certain amount of o2, and there will be a bigger pressure drop over a dirty filter.

I assume hydraulic lifters so not sure what they would adjust on your valves though.
