2018 Honda Accord to get 1.5T as base engine

It seems everyone is dropping the displacement and throwing a snail blower on the exhaust. The 1.5L turbo in the Civic makes 174hp (and 190hp in the CRV) which is plenty for an Accord. Its also mated to a 6 speed manual or CVT trans. Sounds like a nice combo. They're also dropping the 3.5L V6 option in favor of a 2.0L turbo. The automatic flavor will have a 10 speed auto trans that weighs less than the outgoing 6 speed auto.

I await EPA numbers. Hoping for good cda numbers.

Here is a video highlighting some of the engine and transmission technology:

Yeah, they are really copying the Nissan/Renault style of engine. Only Nissan know nothing about fuel economy generally speaking :-)

The 10-speed Auto sounds like a nice touch. Too much comfort :-) people will buy lots of these cars.

future - probably a Prius

Looks like it is already fairly grill-blocked.
