Voter fraud...?

Hey, not what you think!

This is not about the US presidential election. The candidates look and sound distinctly different.

Even so, scandal taints the 2020 New Zealand Bird of the Year election:
https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/...ar-competition
It is tradition, apparently. It happens year after year!
Quote:
About 1500 fraudulent votes have been cast for the little spotted kiwi in Forest and Bird's Bird of the Year competition.

The votes briefly pushed the kiwi pukupuku to the top of the preferred bird leaderboard, but they have subsequently been removed.

The votes were cast in the early hours of Monday morning and the fraud was discovered that afternoon.

"It's lucky we spotted this little kiwi trying to sneak in an extra 1500 votes under the cover of darkness," Bird of the Year spokesperson Laura Keown said.
Whatever they say, this election is gone to the birds!

The little bugger looks innocent enough. Who would have guessed?

Should have used voter ID.
I dont understand why you don't need an ID to vote but anytime I cash $20 a money order they examine my ID like I'm buying dynamite.

We're not calling it communism any more it's "happytalism". Same oppression, new more fun sounding name.
(I'm not making this up)

Here’s a video about vote fraud...

Not voter fraud...

It’s not meant to be political, just educational.

My friends who believe what the news tells them don't know the difference between real numbers and integers. If you are writing software to tally the votes (on birds, right?) would you use reals or integers? If not, why not?

You have to use complex numbers to account for the imaginary votes.

I mentioned imaginary numbers to them. It was like talking to a fence post.

Reals are sufficient to be able shave votes. I even mentioned Office Space as an exemplar to them. Blank stares. Who hasn't seen Office Space?

Which computing language? Cobol is stuck using real numbers, Fortran, C &++ can deal with integers, SQL is "like, whatever" its a string conversion. Unless you can find it in a library for your processor, assembler needs you to write your own function so it doesn't matter.
