how much do you drive?

Was wondering how often everyone drives around here.

As for me, I've been driving my car since April 01 of last year, and have driven 26,800mi so far. I think I'm on par to hit 28,000/yr.

I will hit around 13k miles this year; but life is changing and next year should be far, far fewer. By June, I will be within walking distance of my job, and I won't be driving 20 miles to see my girlfriend anymore. I will also be closer to my gym buddy, so neither of us will be driving 10 miles to the gym any more.
Yes, I know, inefficient American. Sue me.

i drive right at 12,000 miles a year and my fiance's car racked up around 15,000 last year.

Fat Charlie 03-14-2013 09:36 AM

25,000 a year.

70 thousand miles in 3 years on the main car and likely another 5 on a few others. One time I was driving 300 miles a day.

echo-francis 03-14-2013 11:19 AM

40k since 2.5year (my first car)

jakobnev 03-14-2013 12:31 PM

It used to be 70k, now it's about 26k.

If i exclude work it's only 3.7k tho

10kish for all vehicles combined.

Current car was "born" (i.e. registered) in Feb 2011, and bought by me (with 16 miles on it) in June of that year. In about 18 months I have 15.5K on the clock which is surprising as I don't drive very far.

Calculating a miles / year thats about 9K - I think.

Hi all, I'm new here. But just want to join the topic.
I have a drivers licence since 2009. and so far I think have done more than 35 000 miles. It's not much because my dad didn't let me drive his car to much. But at the end of the 2011. I got my own car and now the miles are flying :)

When i had the Infiniti Q45, I was averaging 35-40k a year. I was self-employed and had clients all over California.
But also the Q was a GREAT road car (with the electronic suspension!).
I also drove to Texas 2-3 times a year for a week or two of vacation.

With the Kia Sportage, I might hit 18k this year, but now I live in Texas and have a job w/ just a daily comute.

Haven't figured it in miles, but I filled up both the car & pickup last month (2/20 and 2/23), just when gas prices started climbing. One of my credit cards has a 5% cash-back deal on gas this quarter, so I filled the pickup again yesterday: a little over 7 gallons, or half a tank. The Insight is likewise at about half a tank, so will take 4-5 gallons to fill. So figuring reasonable mpg figures for both, that's about 175 miles in the pickup, 350 in the Insight. If I could keep the same monthly driving for a year (I won't, though), that'd be about 6300 miles per year.

I drive 13,000 miles a year just to/from work. Add to that pleasure driving and I'd say I'm on par with 20,000 or so a year.

2000neon 04-05-2013 10:38 AM

Last year I did 15.5k miles last year, this year should significantly lower.

M-EGT 04-10-2013 10:23 PM

Well, April 01 of this year marked 1 year of driving, and I hit 28,200 miles.
This equates to 2,350 a month, or apprx. 78.3 a day.
