I liked the part about painting the hood/bonnet to look like carbonfiber:)
Unfortunately, most of the real weight saving mods are out of the question for everyday commuting in a family car...

I wonder why they didn't remove the rear doors, since the rear seat was gone anyway?

No need to go that extreme.
I've dumped close to 50kg / 110 lbs by removing unneeded ballast and filling up only halfway.

Imagine the reduction in weight being moved about, accelerated and slowed down thousands of times, when millions of cars were to dump 50 kg/ 110 lbs - it's 50.000.000 kg or 50.000 metric tons per million vehicles.

...in my case, I simply get out of the car (ha,ha).

With no roof structure , the doors closed are only thing keeping that body from flexing . That car would not be safe in anyway shape or form . It would flex all over with every day driving .

PS : I don't know about anybody else but the first 0-60 run seemed like he held back . almost 4 sec improvement is massive .

That's what you get when you do just one run in each configuration using a telephone for a stop watch. If he did at least three runs in each direction, we'd have an idea of how much uncertainty there was in each of his measurements.

I am sure everyone knows its a joke but still .
What i meant by holding back, it seemed he didn't rev it out in first run, again there no pic even of tach/speedo so who knows .

There was a similar vid with a , hmm either Sentra or a Maxima ,forget the vehicle but they did same thing except they didn't cut roof . removed wheels for smaller /lighter ones and removed hood, doors, trunk, exhaust etc .

they timed each change ,was still a joke but at least that one was drivable ,safety wise .
