How to remove Sharpie markings from a monitor!!!

Hey Gang....had the best Christmas ever with my 2 1/2 year old now being old enough to recognize what his gifts were as soon as they were opened....for a few hours it was GREAT! A little later on I thought the wife was giving him a bath and I was busy reading some new books Santa got me....then I thought that it was too quiet....yep....went to the bedroom and the little tyke had gotten a silver Sharpie out....not one square inch of my new Santa brought 22" LG monitor did not have sqribling on it!!!! That, and the printer, desk, and alarm clock too! I went from near tears of joy to near tears of saddness. Well, it was fresh, should be easy to remove....tried Shout, Tide, Tide Stick, Windex....not a dent! Then it occured that something with alcohol might do the trick....got some crappy aftershave out and in a few minutes all markings were gone and NO damage to anything!

So....if someone takes a Sharpie to one of your items, remember this trick!

Goo Gone is the stuff you should have around the house.

Alcohol works great to remove it and is the recommended cleaner for LCD's as well, a quick read in the owners manual should tell you that.

The aftershave was right here so it was the next choice. The other things are on hand, nut in the garage.

WOW...what a blast from the past. The little tyke has never ever gotten into that much trouble since...now he's 3 1/2 and a little hard headed, but no damage!!!

He went from being 2 1/2 to being 2 1/2 more than a year later. I wish I could age like that!

(No, actually I think it was a person. We probably need to implement the "no URLs in sigs or posts" rule until after 5 or more posts....)
