How to trip the stop lights on your bike.
I've got a couple of rare earth magnets. About the size of a quarter on the bottom bracket. It seems to help with the induction loop lights.

The video is blocked at work here, but I thought lights were weight triggered?

all of the stop lights I've seen have a coil of wire in the pavement, or a plate with a coil under it, they are a big simple metal detector.
I live in a state that only requires motorcycles and bicycles to stop at a stop light for 45 seconds (the amount of time that they are supposed to stay red of there is a car waiting), and after that amount of time you can treat it like a stop sign and proceed if it's clear. |
This is something I have been meaning to do before I go back to Houston in a few weeks. Often it is never safe to cross unless you have the light, so this mod is a necessity.

I know that certain states have the cross on red for motorcycles after a few seconds, but does anyone have a list of the states this is legal in? I am not sure if this is legal in my state and haven't been able to find a link to if it is or not. I think a lot of people would be thankfully if someone found a list of states where it was legal and illegal.
