How to trip the stop lights on your bike.

I've got a couple of rare earth magnets. About the size of a quarter on the bottom bracket. It seems to help with the induction loop lights.

The video is blocked at work here, but I thought lights were weight triggered?

I've read it somewhere before but I think there are two versions of stoplight triggers. One is weight and the other is inductance. If I remember correctly the inductance is the most common variety.

Here is an Instructables on Lazarus's mod.

all of the stop lights I've seen have a coil of wire in the pavement, or a plate with a coil under it, they are a big simple metal detector.
I live in a state that only requires motorcycles and bicycles to stop at a stop light for 45 seconds (the amount of time that they are supposed to stay red of there is a car waiting), and after that amount of time you can treat it like a stop sign and proceed if it's clear.

This is something I have been meaning to do before I go back to Houston in a few weeks. Often it is never safe to cross unless you have the light, so this mod is a necessity.

Modern Traffic light work mostly on either timers ( to control traffic), or isolation loops(to “sense” when a vehicle is present). Isolation loops are great for cars because the metal of the car disrupts the resistance of the loop, telling the traffic light that it should change. Motorcycles however do not have enough metal to “interrupt” the signal. Here’s how I changed all that for my bike trips. ...

I know that certain states have the cross on red for motorcycles after a few seconds, but does anyone have a list of the states this is legal in? I am not sure if this is legal in my state and haven't been able to find a link to if it is or not. I think a lot of people would be thankfully if someone found a list of states where it was legal and illegal.
