Howdy From Texas

Hello fellow modders. Just want to say hi to everyone.
Im new to the eco way, and have purchased a 97 geo metro. Have scan gauge will travel. The little car is very clean with 64000 miles and seams to run very well. I havent made any rock solid assessment of my cars MPG abilities. Can someone enlighten me on what to expect from this car. I have been trying to adjust my driving habits and plan to soon install a vacuum gauge.

What kind of transmission do you have?

And I don't know about this for sure, but if you have a scangauge do you really need a vacuum gauge?

Vacuum gauge?

I have a 5 speed manual transmission. the scan gauge is informative but dont nessicarily like the 2 second delay of information reflecting my actions. I feel like i could get a better feel for how i should be using the accelerator with a vacuum gauge. Any advise?

Welcome to the site Metromodder. There is a wealth of metro info here. I'm sure you'll find whatever you're looking for. :)

Hey - 64k miles is low for an 11 year old car! Sounds like a good find.

You can set the ScanGauge to update quicker than its default rate, but it doesn't "remember" the setting, and you have to do it each time. I think it's under: MORE > MORE > RATE (? ... check your manual if that's not right).

As for what to expect from the car, it depends on what kind of driving you're doing. This should give you an idea what to expect from highway speeds in decent weather (warm temps).

That graph is with the stock transmission, and a couple of aero mods (partial grille block, rear wheel skirts).
