HP Loss calculator

Hello,

Spent a couple of hours on this site: HP Loss Aero Drag Calculator

I guessed by installing a under belly pan (full) that you can reduce CD from 0.33 to 0.30. (10%)

Frontal area 1.900m2

__________ 0.33cd ____0.30cd
Speed_____HP Loss____HP Loss__BHP GAIN after underbelly pan?
10mph_____0.00 _____ 0.00_____0.00 bhp
20mph_____0.40 _____ 0.30_____0.10 bhp
30mph_____1.20 _____ 1.10_____0.10 bhp
40mph_____2.90 _____ 2.60_____0.30 bhp
50mph_____5.60 _____ 5.10_____0.50 bhp
(96kph)____9.70 _____ 8.80_____0.90 bhp
70mph_____15.4 _____ 14.0_____1.40 bhp
80mph_____23.0 _____ 20.9_____2.10 bhp
90mph_____32.8 _____ 29.8_____3.00 bhp
100mph____45.0 _____ 40.9_____4.10 bhp

1. Is it right by knowing the hp loss during speed increase you can then say it's like a horse power gain AFTER installing mod?
2. Say for performance gains. 0-60 (0-100kph) is a mere 1bhp? I mean that is like negligible.

Can someone who works with a lot of these online calculators discuss here with me please. Sorry for inputing data in mph.

Yes, it's like a horsepower gain after installing the mod. But only at higher speeds. Negligible power benefit at very low speeds.

Your estimated change in power at 60 MPH will have almost zero effect on 0-60 time, but a measureable effect on highway MPG. And a larger effect on top speed, and acceleration at high speeds.

Thanks for explaining that.

I also used the online tool from this site:

I noticed that even though BHP gain is minor, the AERO figure difference is quite significant when you lower CD. So are we sure we are right in saying it will have zero effect on 0-60? Is the AERO figure the most important?
