HYBRID DIY conversion (Engine + Motor)
Hi,
I am new to this forum, has anyone successfully worked on HYBRID DIY conversion (Motor working with Engine simultaneously to share its load ALL THE TIME)? If yes then: 1- Can you please share reference of that conversion knowledge? 2- How system will detect Engine LIVE Load/Torque & RPM? 3- How System will transfer Engine LIVE RPM & Torque to the DC controller? 4- Is there kind of ready-made solution available for HYBRID system (Motor working with Engine simultaneously to share its load ALL THE TIME)? Thanks |
Welcome! Can you provide a link to this system?

in fact, I am looking for online links and knowledge to make a HYBRID DIY conversion (Motor working with Engine simultaneously to share its load ALL THE TIME). I want to make something like this: Please open youtube and search for "The E-Charger Hybrid System" and watch the first/top video Thanks |

Have you used the search feature in the upper left to probe the Ecomodder website? Search terms that you choose will be more meaningful to you than random comments from others. I suspect there won't be much support for running both modes all the time. The E-charger itself doesn't, with the electrics controlled for Stop/Start and regen. I can't point to any successful hybrid conversions, maybe someone else can. I like the efforts by HaroldinCR on the Buick E-assist. He's in the jungles of Costa Rica, and he posted today in another thread. You could Personal Message him or post in his thread. I'd like to apply this mod to my VW Dasher diesel. ecomodder.com:Controller mods or build for E-assist altermotor It does the same thing as that custom product, but with more modestly sized (15 vs 50Kw) OEM parts. The means parts that are more available in you area, and at probably 1/3 the cost new or 1/10th the cost used. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Z4Zihl-vsj...-EASSIST-5.jpg http://www.carscoops.com/2011/09/bui...ersion-of.html The other potential for both-all-the-time mode would be a through-the road hybrid, where one end is ICE and the other is all-electric. This moots a lot of control synchronization problems as the chassis will absorb any mismatches. Like a FWD car/truck/van with an electric rear axle. |
