hybrid wheels

hi im thinking about getting civic hybrid wheels for my 07 civic lx to help with mpg any advice

I've thought about this too. I'm not sure where they'd be available though.

Hybrid wheels will help as they'll most likely be lighter and more aerodynamic than your stock wheels. However, simple wheel covers can do some of that aero work for you if you don't want to spend a lot.

I'd check salvage yards first. Http://www.car-part.com is a great place to look.

At a wreckers?

The Hybrids have 15" wheels with 195/65-15 tires. Your LX probably has 16" wheels with 205/55-16 tires. So, you'll need new tires with the wheels (if the tires with them are no good), and your speedo will be a little off. That's a big investment with a long cost recovery period.

I'd max inflate my current tires and call it even. When the tires wear out buy LRR tires.

Honda Canada added the hybrid rims, LRR tires and decklid spoiler to its regular '08 5-speed Civics to increase fuel economy by a very small amount to get them past a threshold that qualified them for a government rebate.
