Hydrogen Less than Gas

I didn't believe it at first, but it makes sense. The cost of the vehicle is another issue, however......

Electricity is cheaper than hydrogen...

Hydrogen is just an unnecessary middleman. It's like turning electricity into heat into steam into movement via a steam engine into electricity via a generator into motion via a motor. Sound inefficient? It is. :o

Hydrogen is and always will be bogus...in my opinion. :)

I probably should have posted this in the "Fossil Fuel Free" section. However, hydrogen allows long trips without batteries. The day will come when the handful of Lithium mines dry up, too. And, hopefully, we won't have to replace the fuelcell as often as the batteries (7 -10+ years?).

I think I'm just bitter because I watched "Who Killed the Electric Car." :p

I believe lithium is one of the most common elements in the earth's crust (not 100% sure, though). Lithium can also be recycled, but getting it in the first place will probably create a lot of environmental damage.

I think hydrogen is just a shoe-in for gasoline as petroleum demand dries up. It'll be a lot easier for a person to create electricity at home (solar panels, microhydro, wind, etc.) then it will be to create hydrogen through electrolysis (which is inefficient). Not to mention that hydrogen will have to be compressed to 3000+psi and/or cryogenically stored (unless substrate methods take off).

Every time it rains, it rains H2 and O2. Just because they're bonded together doesn't change the source. Electricity ( watts) can break this bond... but so can other types of energy. Did you ever hear of "chemistry"? "Thermochemistry"? How much thermochem is going through the combustion process? Wasted....
