Hypermiling in New Mexico.
Hello All, I've been checking out this site a bit and found the 100+ tips
very helpful. I decided to join up after I filled up the Sentra and found that this tank was worth 48.85 mpg! Im a mechanic at a speed shop and catch some flak for my fuel efficiency, but I do think it's catching on. Next goal 50 mpg. |

Welcome to EM! My coworker friend has your generation Sentra. I am going to show him your car so he knows what it's capable of. You are a little above 5,000 feet altitude. As a mechanic, do you think that you might be getting a 1 or 2 MPG "lean burn boost"? CarloSW2 |
I am a mechanic also and get lots of flak from fellow techs also. It's part of the game!

I also work @ a speed shop and the best part is having the knowledge and tools to combine the two, power and FE its the new bandwagon :turtle: |
Thanks for all the warm welcomes!
To: cfg83 The high altitude lean burn boost is possable, I live at least 1000 to 1500 ft higher than the place where I work. I can EOC for at least 11 miles out of 40 miles during my daily round trip commute. I think that is a major contributor to my MPG's. To: Johnny Mullet I liked your build thread. Looks like you know which end of the wrench is which. These little cars are so fun to work on. To Vince-HX Good to met you too. It's funny when our customers ask me what I drive they expect a high power car, the only guy who unserstands is a scooter owner! Good Times. Glad to be a member! |
