Introduction

I've got a 2005 Honda Civic EX-SE 2-Door 1.7L 5-Speed, I currently have snow tires on and i'm getting about 31 MPG average. Once summer hits, I plan on pumping my tire pressure up and my goal is 40 MPG on summer tires. I just ordered an ELM OBD-II Bluetooth module that should sync up with my phone to allow me to get my MPG on the fly.

Why not pump the tires up now?

I'm afraid that I won't get as much traction in the snow with the snow tires

Welcome to the site.

Make sure to check out the 100+ hypermiling tips. Start off by trying out a few, then try a few more once you're comfortable. Even with driving conservatively and snow tires on you should be able to easily get in the mid 30s with a little practice.
