I am about to see if my "warranty" has been a complete waste of money.

I keep trying to study and then my realtor, lender, or the title company will tell me they need documents, a check, or one of my favorite vital organs. I drove to the post office this morning and heard what sounded like an air leak whenever I was not braking, even when I was at a stop. I popped the hood when I got back and there was some kind of grinding noise from the general fanbelt area.

As I mentioned previously, I had two tires blow within a week, during which I did not drive. One of those was the driver's front tire, then I started hearing noises when I turned at low speeds, and when I made a trip to Phoenix I found the hard rubber wheelwell rubbing on my tire, so I cut it off.

The sounds continue, however.

I paid for window tint and have only received angry letters about not having them do all kinds of expensive maintenance. After my practical, I am going to schedule to have the tint done, then have them look under the hood. If the warranty does not cover everything, I am going to cancel it on the spot. If the warranty does cover everything, I am going to cancel it once I get home.

I have had the car for six months and have paid $133 a month. Do you think the repairs will be $800?

Any idea what is wrong?

I miss you guys...

I had an extended warr on my Infiniti Q45. I covered on 4 different occasions. The total cost was over $6k. I paid 1700 for the warr.

I normally avoid extended warranties like the plague. However, I did fall for it when I bought the F150 new. Good thing; about two weeks before the warranty expired, the a/c compressor died. Those repairs cost a bit more than the warranty did, so at least I got my money's worth. That time. Barely.

I just tell them my car was totalled and they leave me alone.

Mcrews and Frank Lee, you had good experiences. Old Mechanic, I like your style!

When they offered it and showed what it covered I thought "I paid for one of those and it was expensive. I could not afford one of those and junked the car," etc. I actually felt traumatized by big repairs. Then the fact that I took my then-girlfriend threw off everything.

Nice girl.

Complicated, though.

I work at a parts counter and bill out expensive stuff all day long, and I never would have gotten my minivan without the lifetime service contract I paid $1900 for. Properly done, a service contract is a great thing to have.

Of course when I bought my Subaru I laughed at them when they offered me a service contract, and I wouldn't even look at one of those third-party service contracts.

Mr Toyota gave mne 5 years / 100K miles from registration date for the Aygo. They did try and sell me a service plan but I like to be flexible in case they turn out to be no good. No quibbles so far - repainted rear bumper, nothing else has gone wrong - so far.
