I saw the Mercedes EQC today

I was walking along, minding my own business, and what did I stumble upon? The new Mercedes EQC! For better or worse it just other Mercedes.

The exterior is a very mild refresh of the GLC. I wasn't sure about the grill in the press shots but in person it really doesn't stand out.

The interior is very nice. Typical Mercedes layout and materials. Again, basically a mix of components from current vehicles with just the HVAC vent unique.

If I told someone it was the new GLC they wouldn't question it until they put it in drive and pressed the electron pedal.

Price "to be anounced".

Obviously. The whole point of Mercedes is to announce (loudly) how much you paid for your car.

The announcement that keeps on announcing.

Why would they announce a price on a car that won't be sold in the USA until the middle of 2020? That is the reason I was surprised to see an EQC in the flesh.

The plant in Bremen, Germany started EQC production in May 2019 for EU sales. (The 2019 EQC starts at 71,000 Euro there.) Japan gets it next, then the USA. US cars and batteries will be assembled at the Mercedes plant in Vance, Alabama.

If you are interested in how it is assembled a short video is here:

MBUSA has an EQC web page and the ordering guide is active.

What is odd about that? It is standard industry practice to set up a model webpage once a vehicle is announced to the public. It gets more detailed as the sale date approaches.

Honda has a similar page for the 2020 CRV Hybrid.
https://automobiles.honda.com/future-cars/cr-v-hybrid

Toyota has one for the 2021 Mirai and three other 2020 cars.
https://www.toyota.com/upcoming-vehicles/mirai/

Ford has one for the 2020 Transit:
https://www.ford.com/trucks/transit-...r-all-vehicles

Go to pretty much any automakers website and you will see a page for future cars.

Your statement in post 4 gave me the impression that you think Mercedes taking a longer than normal amount between announcing the EQC and producing it. I took your comment to be negative.

Maybe my impression was incorrect?

Just posting the link so the others can see it. Aside from the charging network, the EQC is a good Tesla X competitor at a much cheaper price.
