2010 Prius Ecomod Suggestions?
Hello,
I have a 2010 Prius that I bought in January. I was wondering if any members have suggestions for mods to improve the mpg. I'm currently averaging 50.4 according to the HSI display. Since the car is still under warranty, I don't want to do anything that might cause Toyota to deny warranty coverage if anything goes wrong with the car. I'm mainly interested in aero stuff, but will also consider other mods. With that said, any ideas from the gurus?

You can try blocking off the the (tiny) upper grill -- it probably won't help much, but you might get a boost. Some rear wheel skirts (as far down the opening as you can) would probably help.
Running as much as possible without heat or A/C can help a lot in the Prius, and learning how to keep it running in EV mode as much as possible, will help a lot, too.

My $.02
Mods:
Grille block
Smooth wheel covers
Block heater
Rear wheel skirts
Technique:
Practice using your ICE/brakes/regen the least by timing lights and coasting as much as possible. I use neutral coast a lot at city speeds.

With respect to Neil, this is a bit of a misconception.
Actually, unless you have a plug in, you want to avoid using EV and try to P&G using the ICE instead. Use up extra battery energy if you have regenned it but avoid having the ICE charge the battery directly because of the efficiency losses.

Patrick,if it weren't for the warranty,I'd say that your Cd could be cut in half for around 70 mpg on the highway,using s seamless full-boat-tail one-wheel trailer with gap-fillers.
